some things about me, in no particular order.
I would consider one of the top 5 best things about photography the chance to connect on a different level of personal with people I already know; people I sat next to in grade school social studies, people I shared stage makeup with in high school, people I crammed into my mini van to head to the third party of the night in college, people I . I get immense joy from connecting with these people and getting them in front of my lens. But for those of you who didn't have the pleasure of passing me a muddy soccer ball or crying with me over how much AP homework you also haven't started, here you go. Enjoy.
Married to Kyle, a hilarious and huge-hearted guy whose waking hours have been gifted with my presence for the past eighteen glorious years. We met in the student lobby of our small liberal arts college and the rest is mostly history and one too many selfies. He makes me laugh on a daily basis, has never met a stranger, and enjoys challenging me, disagreeing with me, and keeping me on my toes. We enjoy over-quoting movies at each other, taking turns not cooking, singing loudly at concerts, living room dance battles and hoop contests, family road trips. To sum up our general approach to life, we're late to the party, but always stay to help clean up.
Grateful to to the three who made me a mom. Emme, a spirited and wise eight year old who is beautifully weird in the best possible way and continuously surprises me, teaches me and loves me; her laughter is my lighthouse. Jude, our forever baby who is constantly on my mind, especially when I see a butterfly float on by or hear that Beatles song; I carry your heart, until we meet again. Beck, a three year old with a wonky extra tooth jack-o-lantern grin; he is chaotic sunshine and brings happiness to anyone who meets him, and will without question or hesitation throw anything he can get his tiny hands on.
An easily contented person; it doesn't take much to make me happy. Perpetually grateful and full of emotions on any given day. Was a weird child growing up, and have pretty much remained so. Proud Westsider that loves playing the connection game immediately after meeting you. Misdiagnosed Capricorn, typical middle child. Happiest when brainstorming, even if most ideas never see the light of day. Thoroughly enjoy wit & intellect and the clever people who possess it, but also known for laughing entirely too hard at really dumb movies. My laugh is part of my trademark, and the volume of it startles even me sometimes, so, just a head's up. Have loved poetry since I was a kid, and am an esteemed published author of one single poem from my middle school years. Collector of concert tees and bona fide moments. Chronic reader who owns far too many hardbacks, but mostly read ebooks now. Writer of run-on sentences within run-on sentences, and composer of 434 notes on my phone. Constant daydreamer. Lover of nature, largely due to annual family camping trips growing up and eight years of earning Girl Scout badges. My obsession with music is deep and wide, and I will listen to pretty much anything at least once. Always open to trading book and music recommendations, pretty please. I would be lost without my good people; the people who really see me, know my quirks and my shortcomings, and irrevocably love me. Forever laughing and learning and editing.
